It simulates a D65 illuminant to illuminate. The instrument employs d/o illuminating-viewing geometrical conditions, with a diameter of the globe of diffusion of 150mm and a diameter of the test hole of 30mm; with a light absorber, it eliminates the effect of specular reflection light of the sample. The peak wavelength of spectral power distribution of R457 whiteness optical system is 457nm and its half-width is 44nm. The Y10 optical system is in compliance with GB3979-83 Object Color Measurement Method. Introduction:

The turbidity of water refers to the degree of turbidity caused by suspended matter such as sediment, clay, organic matter, plankton and microorganisms contained in water. Industrial grade turbidity sensors or turbidimeters are expensive and not costly in electronics design; therefore, we have chosen a turbidity sensor that is widely used in household appliances washing machines and dishwashers. The sensor uses the optical principle to comprehensively determine the turbidity by the transmittance and scattering rate in the solution. Inside the sensor is an infrared pair tube. When light passes through a certain amount of water, the amount of light transmitted depends on the degree of contamination of the water. The more dirty the water, the less light is transmitted. The light receiving end converts the transmitted light intensity into a corresponding current magnitude, and the transmitted light is large, and the current is large, and the transmitted light is small, and the current is small.

The turbidity sensor module converts the current signal output by the sensor into a voltage signal, and performs AD conversion data processing by the single chip microcomputer. The module has an analog and digital output interface. The analog quantity can be sampled by the microcontroller A/D converter to know the current water contamination. The digital quantity can be adjusted by the potentiometer on the module. When the turbidity reaches the set threshold, the D1 indicator will be illuminated, the sensor module output will change from high level to low level, and the microcontroller will monitor the level change. Correction:

Due to individual differences in turbidity sensors, ambient light, or temperature compensation. To obtain a more accurate turbidity value, calibration must be performed prior to measurement. The specific operation method is described below.

Step 1: Install the turbidity sensor to power the sensor module. Calibrate using a standard solution of 0 NTU (or purified water or distilled water close to 0 NTU);

Step 2: Record the temperature value of the current calibration solution and record it as T test under the condition of the sensor environment (try to avoid the error caused by the light intensity); measure and record the output voltage of the sensor module as the U test.

Step 3: calculate the voltage difference ΔU caused by the temperature difference. The measured T test is substituted into the temperature correction formula.

5. Grading the turbidity using analog signals

Turbidity level calibration can be performed with solutions of varying degrees of turbidity.

Using digital signals:

Select a specific turbidity contrast solution and adjust the potentiometer knob to the position where the D1 indicator light is just lit (ie, the threshold of high and low levels) to complete the threshold setting. The DO port of the sensor module is connected to the I/O port of the MCU for output signal judgment or connected to an external drive circuit to drive other devices.

Precautions:

1. The top of the turbidity sensor is not waterproof. It is forbidden to completely throw the turbidity sensor into the water during use. The water surface must not pass the connection between the top cover and the shell. The sensor will cause the sensor to burn out when it enters the water.

2. The wavelength range of the sensor photodiode receiving light is (500~1050nm). The wavelength of daylight or daylight light line will affect the receiving of the sensor's photoresistor and affect the measurement output. Daylight or direct light will increase the sensor measurement error, and the sensor should be protected from daylight or direct sunlight.

3. The sensor head housing should be kept clean to avoid measurement obstruction caused by contaminants.
